Healthy Lands.
Prosperous Communities.
We empower smallholder farmers through sustainable agriculture, so households can grow more food and protect the soil it depends on.
We bring degraded land back to life through restoration, so fields, forests and water sources can support families for generations.
We support community development initiatives that build skills, livelihoods and local leadership for lasting prosperity.
Total LandCare is a leading non-profit organization working to transform rural households into prosperous communities on healthy lands across Southern Africa.
Who we are
Total LandCare (TLC) was founded in 1999 by Trent Bunderson and Zwide Jere as a non-governmental organization affiliated to Washington State University.
In 2003, TLC was registered as a Trust in Malawi, in Zambia in 2001, followed by Mozambique and Tanzania in 2006.
Malawi is the headquarters of the organization, but each country’s office has an independent governance structure and Board of Directors.
