Where
Regional programme covering Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania. TLC implements in Central Malawi and Eastern Province, Zambia.
Funding & partners
Supported by USAID and the US State Department. Partners include Meridian, CIMMYT/CGIAR and government extension services.

The programme responds to constraints on smallholder agriculture, including the effects of the war in Ukraine and other production challenges.

Four priority areas guide the work: fertilizer production, distribution and use; access to seeds; access to financial services; and agricultural advisory services on crop, soil and water management.

TLC focuses on increasing production in key value chains and strengthening the market-access capacity of farmer organizations and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

On its homepage, TLC reports that the AID-I programme in Malawi’s Central Region is a K4 billion project that has reached more than 15,000 farming households with modern farming technologies.
